michael_jackson_diesMichael Jackson’s memorial service of last Tuesday cannot have slipped anyone’s attention. Apart from the 17,500 attendants at the Staples Center, LA, the event was watched by millions of people around the world. The service brimmed with A-list singers performing in memory of MJ and those who could not sing dropped some emotional words about the legendary artist.

Of course, the event was widely covered by the media and not surprisingly, it were not only the positive aspects of the artist’s life which were brought up: Jackson’s will, his debts, the battles about the custody of his children, family problems, his supposed plastic surgery and the excessive costs of the service were all reminisced upon. Fortunately, this did not make up the greater part of the event and it were the messages and speeches of Nelson Mandela, Brooke Shields, Magic Johnson, Bernice King (Martin Luther King’s daughter) and particularly of MJ’s daughter Paris Katherine which will stay with us forever:

Nelson Mandela:

“[…]We became fond of him and he became a close member of our family. We had great admiration for his talent and that he was able to triumph over tragedy on some many occasion in his life. Michael was a giant and a legend in the music industry and we mourn with the millions of fans worldwide. We also mourn with his family and his friends over the loss of a dear friend. He will be missed and memories cherished of him for a long time”

Brooke Shields:

“MJ’s laugh was the sweetest and purest laugh of anyone’s I had ever known, his sense of humour was delightful.” […]

Paris Katherine Jackson:

“[…] I just wanted to say, ever since I was born Daddy has been the best father you can ever imagine. And I just want to say that I love him so much”

Though Michael Jackson’s burial place has not yet been revealed, it is certain that he will be wearing one of his Swarovski crystal inlaid gloves. Rest in peace, MJ…

Hey... Great to see you back!
