At the annual awards show of British music magazine Q, a host of A-list musicians has once again scooped up prestigious awards in diverse categories.

Big-time winners include Lily Allen, Lady Gaga and Muse, who collected awards for ‘Best Track’, ‘Best Video’ and ‘Best Act in the World Today’ respectively. Particularly Muse did a good job, cutting out not only Coldplay, The Arctic Monkeys and Kings of Leon, but also recently-disbanded Oasis in the ‘Best Act in the World today’ category. However, The Artic Monkeys took revenge by collecting the award for “Best Live Act”

Apart from these current music phenomena, also music legends who have greatly influenced today’s music industry were honoured. Legendary Led Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant went away with the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Music Award’ and also Marianne Faithful and Yusuf Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens, left the show in the possession of a Q Award.
